One of the worlds largest classical music publishers, the English company of Boosey and Hawkes has a long and notable past and is respectfully recognised for it’s great achievements over 80 decades. Formed in 1930 through the merger of two well-established British music businesses, the company owns the copyrights or agencies to an impressive collection of 20th-century music, including works by Bela Bartok, Leonard Bernstein, Benjamin Britten, Aaron Copland, Sergei Prokofiev, Richard Strauss and Igor Stravinsky. It also publishes many prominent contemporary composers, including Ned Rorem, Elena Kats-Chernin, Peter Maxwell Davies, John Adams, and James MacMillan. This collection is a celebration of contemporary music, featuring 29 pieces by 18 of Boosey and Hawkes most prominent composers. Medium to advanced level.
